Altered Tissue Box for Tresors de Luxe

Good Morning Friends...

Hope to find you all doing well and ready for my next project done for Tresors de Luxe! I have altered a Tissues box for my kitchen...and this is how it turned out. I had three different laces out to use, but in the end only used one, as this lace is about 7 " broad, I was able to cut out so many appliqués and trims that I did not have to use any other lace...

{ Double click for closer look}

I used Maja Design Papers that I layered and different resin products from Prima as well.

I sprayed all my laces with Lindy's Stampgang Starburst, Clam Bake Beige. Also added the half Pearls and did some lacing on the corners.

This is the top of the lace that I cut of and placed opposite the layer making it look as if the paper 'grows' from the lace.

Side two...also with various appliqués. The rose buds are all from Lucy's store and are just the most amazing fabric flowers.

The brown flowers were actually two white Carnation Flowers that I took apart, sprayed with LSG, Long John's Silver Moon Shadow Mist and layered behind the Prima embellishments.

One short side of the box, again with the top trim of the lace and some added appliqués...

The Prima pieces were all misted with LSG  Starburst, Wild Honeysuckle Coral and Moon Shadow Mist, Treasure Island Turquoise.

This is the lace and flowers that I used from the Tresors de Luxe etsy shop...For today only there is a 15 % discount on all purchases, make sure you take advantage of this will be worth your while! The shop is stocked on a regular basis with new and exciting items and when you see what is on offer, you will understand why Lucy's laces will be adorning the costumes of Disney-worlds characters!!!!

~ Smiles ~ A LO for Zeus and Zoe...

Hello Zeus and Zoe friends...

Today's post is bitter sweet for me as it will be my last one as a member of Zeus and Zoe...I would love to thank Marivic and the ZZ team for having me on-board these past few months! I have had to think out of my comfort box a few times to showcase items from my Design Team package resulting in some interesting off the page items! It was such a joy to work with some amazing vintage products. I will be keeping a close watch on what the remaining and new team will be creating and wish them one and all the very best for the future!!!

This page of my son Francois, was made with papers that came in my kit...I used a sheet as background, after slapping some medium onto it and also used the amazing book pages that I received...They, together with the vintage post cards must have been the highlight of my package for me...I used them as the strips, matting and also cut the Pediments with them.

The words 'Smiles and Happiness' as well as the Die-cut paper Rosettes, come from one of the patterned papers from my kit as do the brown flower, 'believe' and the jewel embellishment.

What I loved most about the book pages was that they were naturally aged and distressed! Apart from the little bit of black stamping, I did not add any colour to it, it's all 'natural'!

To add some extra texture to the page, I first used a stencil and Picket Fence Distress Stain to create the first layer of paints...after drying it I used another stencil and texture paste. Leaving the stencil in place, I sprayed over the texture paste with Lindy's Stampgang Starburst spray, Screaming Banshee Black which has a beautiful Blue undertone...I used the residue on the stencil on various areas of the background as well! I did some stamping with Black Soot Distress Paint...I prefers using Distress Paint for it gives a good coverage and after drying, does not smear should you use more wet medium on the page.

This then is it for me...I hope that in a small way I may have encouraged you to visit the Zeus and Zoe Etsy shop and have Marivic custom design a package for you...

Patricia Basson saying Goodbey with these words...

And meeting again, after moments or lifetime,
is certain for those who are friends.

Hello Imaginarium friends...

With the countdown to Christmas in full swing, I want to share two cards I created with some of the lovely items available from Imaginarium Designs!

These are the gorgeous Christmas Trees...I prepared them with a layer of Gesso and once dried, I stamped a background image with Weathered Wood Distress Paint.

I added texture with some Coarse Texture Gel and micro beads and some white paint once it was dried. I also sprayed them with Lindy's Stampgang mist, Ghostly Gargoyle White.

The Happy Christmas title was just covered with some white texture paste and some glitter.

I used Pion Designs papers.
 Silent Night: Snowfall
                   Waiting for Santa II: Santa is coming

On this card I used the layered Baubles...

These come with a background and a hanger and are ideal to layer... Again they were gesso'd first, the background was inked with Storm Sky Distress Ink.

The top layer just got a sprinkling of Fairy Dust glitter to finish it of.

I painted the Music with Holly Symbols with Luck O' the Irish Glimmer Glam from Tattered Angels.

Pion Papers used are...Silent Night: Church
Waiting for Santa II: Stars in Heaven

~~~ Inkido DT call 2014 ~~~
Good Morning Blog friends...
Inkido / Papercraft Scandinavia are having a DT call and I would love to apply for their DT for they have some amazing paper lines that they produce! For this call I have to make a blog post showing some of my favourite works...choosing them last night made me realise that I actually did some amazing LO's this year, and I am not making this statement to blow my own horn...It's just that I sometimes doubt my work and tend to think that I can not do 'beautiful' pages! It was good going through my work and seeing some pages that I have forgotten about...I think one should do that more regularly, just to see how one has grown and also pick up on some favourite techniques...
Here then are a few of my favourites...showing how I love working with papers, trying to showcase them by layers and distressing and just playing with different techniques...I hope you all enjoy a little visit to some older pages...Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of using Inkido papers before...
A short Bio...please feel free to view my Resume for details of future and up coming Design Teams...
I am Patricia Basson, mother of 3 and furry mother to 7 - 2 dogs, 3 own cats and 2 foster cats...I have been scrapping since the end of 2006 and just love working with papers, trying to mould and shape them to bring out the beauty of the designs. Love distressing and layering and am playing a little with the popular mixed media lately. I have done many albums in the beginning with multiple photos documenting the life's of the Basson children ext...and find that I am treating scrapping more as an art form these days...I love following several scrapping idols via the social media and find inspiration from them...
These are links to galleries were my works are posted, hope you enjoy the visit...
~ Pillow Box and Tag for Tresors de Luxe ~
Good Morning on this Sunday to all my 'Lacy' friends...Hope you had a wonderful week, got a good rest and are ready and geared up for another week!
Receiving so many beautiful pieces of lace from Lucy makes me look at other projects apart from my usual pages to showcase just how pretty and versatile her laces are...I have seen a few Pillow boxes lately, made from the plastic cases that embossing folders come in...having thrown mine away and certainly not wanting to buy any more soon, I cut mine with my Cameo using two sheets of Maja Design Papers and decorated it with various Tresors de Luxe Laces, Appliqués and Flowers.
At the bottom I used a section of  Lace that I adorned with some half Pearls.
I cut Appliqués from two of my laces and also used some of the beautiful Shabby Chic Fabric Flowers...
These are just the most precious flowers with their gold splatters...One of a kind!
This is the other side of the box. It is pretty much the same as the front, also cut the Appliqués and some flowers...
These were cut from the same lace that I used at the bottom of the box...As I said before...Lucy's laces are beautifly versatile to cut as Appliqués and the quality is so fraying at all!
I had to follow Renea's idea and also made a Tag from my left I am going to send this box as a gift to a friend, filled with some scraping goodies, I will write my message to her on the Tag...
I am in the habit lately of using a Tag to try out my mists or new masks and stencils, thus I had a Tag available as background that I just needed to fill up with papers and some Tresors bits and pieces...
These are the flowers and Laces that I have used...
Thank you for your visit...will be back soon with another project...
