Celebrating You
Dusty Attic Oct 2015 Moodboard

Hello Blog friends...

I am sharing with you my take on the October Mood-board from Dusty Attic...
I took this photo of George when I visited him last month and we went for a short walk along his very short beach front...lol!
I wanted to keep the page more simple, without my usual play with papers, flowers and embellishments...I rather played with the Dusty Attic chipboard, colour and textures...

I used crackle paint on the background, sprayed a little Lindy's mist and painted using the Dusty stencil and Cashmere Paint from Dusty...On the String Frame I also used Sunburst Orange, Cashmere and Vintage Gold paint that I heated to form the bubbles and texture...I also swiped a little black distress ink onto it. The little Hearts are from the Heart Attack border.

I painted the lighthouse with Storm Cloud, Faded Denim and Denim paints, I stencilled with some Graphite Texture Paste. The Seagull was coloured using several Lindy's mists.

The Indian Arrow was first painted with Bisque paint and once dried I painted it with several colours H2Os.

The Grass Clusters clusters were also painted with Lindy's and I have added some Glass Glitter to it. Also added Mica flakes and micro beads for interest.

Al of these products used and many, many more are available from the Dusty Attic Store...

Sept 2015 Scraps of Elegance kit

This month (September) the Scraps of Elegance kit is called - Lisa's Sweet September Kit...and it contains papers from the Gilded Lily Collection from Graphic 45 and Autumn Anthology from Blue Fern Studios.

For this page I used the following  Graphic 45 papers... Gilded Lily, Lavish Lifestyle and Royal Gardens. I kept the mixed media to  minimum on this page and rather played with layers and flowers to add interest.

I did some distressed punching on the edges. I also layered with several cut outs from the paper range and used flowers from the main kit and flower add-ons.

In the creativity add-on we got the Frantage Encrusted Jewel Kit from Stampendous...it consists of 5 tubes of different Embossing Powders and Elements, here I used the Bronze Glass Glitter and Tea Stained Mica Flakes...easy to adhere with soft matt gel.

Layered the Graphic 45 Metal Keyhole and the Melissa Frances Frame...

On the background I used the Rebecca Baer  Moroccan Tile and Vine stencil from the Elements Add-on and the Prima Chalk edger to add interest to the paper, I also used a scoop of the Iced Rose Gelato from the Creative Add-on mixed with some Whipped Spackle through a stencil. I used a crumpled plastic bag to apply the Persimmon Mica Color Mist from Blue Fern Studios and a stamp for the Sky mist. The twine is part of the Main Kit. The title got a sweep of coloured Whipped Spackle and wiped thought the Sky mist on my craft sheet...

~How does your Garden grow~
Oct 2015 Dusty Attic DT Project

Hello dear Blogfriends...

Spring has made it to our front door and it has the promise of being a very warm and dry summer season this year. I have many plants that have either not flowered at all, or flowered at the wrong time...One of them being my Azaleas...They should have flowered early August, but are only starting to flower now.

I created this page for my Oct Design Team post for Dusty Attic, using the Garden Frame as the main chipboard piece...

I used BoBunny Papers from the Gabrielle Collection.

I painted my chipboard with paints from the Dusty in Colour collection. As you can see, I did some gradual shading using Mountain Meadow and Oceania on the foliage and Dusty Pink and Sugar Plum on the frame. I also embossed using Lindy's Stampgang Embossing Powders Desert Moon Turquoise, Tilt-O-Wheel-Teal, Pop Rock Purple and Raspberry Lemonade.
The leaves from Foliage #3 tucked in between the flowers were painted with Navajo White and embossed with Deserts Moon Turquoise...

I recently bought some Mega gilding flakes and enjoy using them whenever I can, as you can see here on the stamped images on the paper!

The following photos will show you the paintwork on the frame...

I layered a piece of the Sweet Pea frame set to add a little interest...

These are the items used on the page...all of which are found in the Dusty Attic shop.
