Memories
July 2015 Scraps of Elegance Kit

Good Day my Scrappy friends.
What a wonderful feeling to have one of the Scraps of Elegance kits bearing my name...It is called "Patricia's Memoirs" and is filled with amazing papers from the BoBunny Juliet Collection, Prima's Debutante Collection, and the usual array of beautiful flowers, stamps, a Prima Stencil and various interesting Mixed Media mediums...

Seeing as the paper is so beautiful on it's own, I did not add too much to the background. I did some simple layering under my photo and used the gorgeous Esperanza Querida flower spray from Prima that is part of the Floral Add-on.

I used the Marion Smith Designs Color Lap pigments with some Matt Gel to add a little shine and colour to the Flowers and Butterfly. And are the Iced Enamels German Glitter Glass from Ice Resin not just so sparkly and elegant? These are all part of the Creativity Add-on.

I added a touch of lace to the banners that I cut from the Juliet Nostalgia sheet. The Rose looking embellishments are Prima Debutante Say it in Crystals from the Elements Add-on.

On the chipboard window I used ink and California Stucco Antiquities Embossing Powder from Ranger. I stamped with the different stamps from the kit using the Faber Castell Double Scoop Gelatos Guava and Red Cherry.

Just see how clever Melinda is in co-ordinating colours for her Kits...The big splats on the top and right are part of the paper...as for the rest I used the Gelatos, Embossing Powder and the Lindy's Stampgang Orange Creamsickle Flat Fabio mist to create matching colour and texture to the page...

Melinda's Kits are best sellers, therefore I would suggest subscribing to the Kit Club in order to receive a wonderful Kit each month...

Snapshot
Aug 2015 Dusty Attic Inspiration Board Challenge

Hello once again...

For this months Inspiration Board challenge from Dusty Attic, I was inspired by the Yellow and Purple colours...not colours that I usually use, but I felt like making a fun and playful page for once...I was inspired by these photos from Michelle taken at least 7 years ago...my how time flies!!!

It is so easy to take part in our monthly Inspiration Board Challenge. The only "rule" is that you use some Dusty Attic chipboard on your masterpiece. Just add your link, name and country to the side bar on the Dusty Attic website to win a $100 Gift Voucher.

I gesso'd the Elegant Frames and Painted them with Dusty Colour Lavender Blush and Sunshine. To get the shades I was looking for, I mixed a drop of Berries Mixed Media Inx refill into the Lavender Paint and a tiny drop of Mustard Seed Distress Ink refill into the Sunshine Paint. They mix beautifully and thus one can achieve the precise shade you want...
I also stamped on the Yellow for some added interest.

I painted the Snapshot title and xoxoxo with Sunshine Yellow and embossed randomly with Lapis Lazuli Blue Gold Embossing Powder from Lindy's Stampgang.

No flowers on this page except for some fussy cut ones, I did some inking and stencilling on the background.

From the Dusty Shop I used the following...

July/Aug 2015: 7 Dotsstudio Challenge

I can not believe that I am nearly too late to enter this page for the 7 Dot Studio challenge...Had the page made weeks ago and just never got to bloging it...
Seeing as the challenge is to scrap Animals, I just had to use this photo of me and Dark Dean taken many years ago. He was a Nooitgedacht gelding that I bought as a very young and green horse. Together the two of us learned to do Dressage, building a deep trust and love for each other.

I only have a few sheets of 7 Dots Studio papers, being Cotton and Songbird from the Nature Walk Collection. I cut the Chevrons and layered them on my background paper and also used them as layers behind my photo.

I used Ranger Texture Paste through my stencil knowing that it would show the colours from Lindy's Stampgang Sprays the best. The colours I used are Frolic in the Forest Black and Steampunk Sepia Starbursts and Ethernal Emerald Moonshadow Mist.

The flower spray is from Petaloo...

I have a few pieces of French Flourish Chipboards from Dusty Attic on this page. They were treated with Dusty Rust Powder to achieve the aged look.

I also used Stampendous 'Spoonful of Rust' Embossing Powder and Elements to give added interest to my background. And splatters of  'Bamboo Leaves' Irresistibly inks.

Blessed
Aug 2015 Dusty Attic DT project

Hello blogland friends...

Today I am sharing my Design Team project for Dusty Attic. I played with Dusty Rust Powder a wile ago on several chipboard pieces and found them the perfect match to this studio photo of my oldest daughter Chantelle...

Having used the powder before and not being all together satisfied with the result, I tried a different approach. I first gesso'd my chipboard. Instead of using the Rusting Powder on a dry surface, I randomly dabbed the pieces with my Ranger clear embossing glue and then added the powder. I left it to dry and only then spritzed it with the vinegar. I found it gave me a better coverage...The colouring was done with several colours of Alcohol inks, mainly blues and red/rust colours. The look and especially feel of the rusted chipboard is just amazing!!!

These beautiful newly released foliage leaves and the String Frame are painted with a mix of Dusty Paints Cranberry and Hot Chocolate. I also sprinkled and heat set some UTEE on them and gave them a spritz of Biscoti Perfect Pearl Mist for some shine.

On this photo you can really see the amazing effect of the Rusting Powder...yummylisious for sure!

I cut the small Elegant Flourish in half and positioned it at the top and bottom of my page. The flowers and leaves are all from Petaloo. I did some stamping and stencil work on the background and gave a final touch of Bling by flicking some watered down glue onto the paper and dusted it with charcoal Art Sugar.

Remember to visit the Dusty Attic shop for even more gorgeous chipboard pieces...

These are the products that I have used on this page...
