~~~ The Perfect sunset ~~~
April 202 Dusty Attic Personal Blogpost
With the entire world gone crazy and most being in total lock-down I have created a calming and serene page for Dusty Attic.
I used papers from AB Studio Paradise Lost: Paradise Lost and Road to Paradise and Gently from Take me There.
The photo is one that I took end of last year at Langebaan.
I distressed the papers quite heavily, added texture with Cosmic Shimmer Strata Paste and some Lava Paste.
After Gesso'ing, I painted the Iron Garnish with Orange paint and some Crimson Velvet spray from Nuvo.  The wings and Port Holes I painted with Turquoise Blue and Dark Patina and Orange paints.  I added some Distress Crackle to the wings as well.
The Sea-stars were treated with Blue Green Rust effect paste and orange paint and layerd with a Sign post and some natural elements.
The black Title got a little of the Rust Paste on the edges.
You will notice that Dusty's website has a brand-new Look!!! We have everything placed together now for your convenience.  The on-line shop, Blog and much more is now easy to reach from only one page!
Wishing you all well and Please look after yourself, your Loved ones and stay safe!!!
It isn't enough to talk about peace.
 One must believe in it.
And it isn't enough to believe in it.
One must work at it.
Dusty Attic February 2020 DT Project
 Hello Blogland friends....
For my February Design Team project for The Dusty Attic Blog, I created a canvas again...I really love playing on a canvas with different elements and media, so much FUN learning and experimenting!
I added some texture with White Sand Texture paste. I began by gluing the Scroll on the canvas, gesso'd and painted the background with different Art Alchemy Paints. The Scroll was painted with Opal Magic: Violet-Green. Depending on the angle it will show either the Green or the Violet shade...
The background was painted with the following, Sparks Fairy Wing and Raven Black, Metallique Rustic Brown, Opal Magic Green-Gold.
The Cogs, Industrial Balloon, Globe and Clock were painted with the Fairy Wings Spark. I then used different waxes on the painted chipboard as well as on the raw Mini Pipeworks and Mitform Casting elements...Firebird, Lucky Emerald, Mystic Turquoise, Old Denim and White Gold.
 I find it very rewarding that, with the right treatment of the chipboard, one can hardly tell the difference between chippies and metal elements!
Hope someone will be encouraged to try their hand at something similar...
Find the chipboard used and many more in the Dusty Attic On-line shop.
If you have an apple
 and I have an apple
and we exchange these apples
 then you and I will still each have one apple.
But if you have an idea
and I have an idea
and we exchange these ideas,
then each of us will have two ideas.
March 2020 Dusty Attic Blogpost
Good Day Dusty Attic fans!!!
Today I am sharing a page using photos of me and my son taken last year when he came for a visit...
I used papers from Ciao Bella, the Broccato Estense Collection.
The leaves were painted with Lindy's Stampgang Shabby Turbine Teal Spray.
On the background I did some stenciling using Art Exravagance Graphite and Black Sand Texture Pastes. The Border chipboard was painted using Dusty Attic Paints, Denim and Lavender Bush. I also randomly embossed with Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture embossing powders.
The Grid Broken Bits I embossed with Cosmic Shimmer Iron Age Embossing powder and the Notebook Edge Border with Industrial Revolution.
As our Dusty Webside is down for an upgrade at the moment, I can not link all the products I used ...But rest assure that these and many more will soon be back for all to order...
You don't raise heroes,
you raise sons.
  And if you treat them like sons,
 they'll turn out to be heroes,
even if it's just in your own eyes.
