Crafti Treasure's Challenge

Hi to all my friends!
This is a LO I made for a challenge hosted by Mariaan Fouche, a fellow Panel Team Lady at Crafti Treasures. Now Crafti is a site hosted by a South African lady who currently lives in Bern,Switzerland. Mariaan's challenge was to use only Black and White and one other color on your LO. I used a brick red as my third color and was fortunate enough to have photos of Michelle wearing Black and White!!!  These photos are of her Hip Hop dance which earned her a spot on the South African Team that went to New York in 2006 were she competed in several dance styles!
I also want to enter this LO in our local Magazine's competition were one has to use at least three Tim Holtz products. That was quite easy to do as I am a devoted Timmy fan!!! So here goes.

To follow some close ups of some of the elements I used...

This is a chippie from Enmarc Crafts...I treated it to the resist stamping method by Mr. Tim himself. The wire flower I bought whilst we were on holiday last year July at a neat little gift shop in the tiny town of Willowmore. The spinner is also from TH.

Here I used a TH Hitch Fastener to hold the TH Ball Chain.The music sheet is TH tissue wrap-Composer. I crumpled it and gave it a swipe with my Fired Brick Distress ink.

The TH hanging sign was moistened with water and curled some. Then I painted it black and dusted some Forever Red Perfect Pearls Powder onto it. The title is wooden letters painted white and stamped...with a TH stamp of course!!!

The button was stamped and then covered with TH Crackle Paint -Clear Rock Candy.

The black paper is from Coredinations with a white core...I embossed it with a TH /Sizzix folder and sanded it for the white core to really stand out. The stamped image on my red Tim Holtz Lost and Found Paper Stash paper is a TH Slight Alterations Stamp-with Black Soot Distress ink. And the tiny staplers are also TH...They were colored with Alcohol Inks.

All my chalking was done with Distressed Inks- Black Soot and Fired Brick.

That's it for this posting...Thank you if you took the time to have a visit...I would appreciate knowing you were here!!!

~~~ First post for 2012! ~~~
Today will be a loooong post for I want to share my two LO's and a card that I made to participate in The Girly Grunge's DT call...
I loved making the LO's and they came out better than I anticipated...Especially the first one 'Love Notes' Now this is the second time I made this LO...The first time was back in Jan 2011 when I used Trina  McLune's sketch hosted by Dusty Attic...At the time I couldn't enter the sketch challenge as I did not have any DA products to use.I made the LO again,using DA's this time in order to show case it at Dusty Attic as well! Once again the photo's are of my two daughters Chantelle and Michelle aged 5 and 2 years at the time...that was round about 1992!!! I used the most beautiful Pixie Glen Collection from Prima.. Window View, Devon and Chip-A-Twitter. From Dusty Attic I used a piece of the Arc Window # 3 and an all time favorite Vine...
Some close ups....
The second LO is of my son Francois now age 28,when he was about 3 years old! For this LO I used Bo Bunny's extraordinary Et Cetera Collection. I just LOVE this distressed  range of theirs!I also used a Dusty Attic frame that I painted with two colors of Distress crackle paint and dusted with some Perfect Pearls powder.The rods I painted with Distress Stain and some gold Perfect Pearl powder...
Some more close ups...
And finally my card...I made a grungy Xmas card! I used Tim Holtz's Kraft-Core...just love how grunged it looks after I crumpled it and sprayed some Smootch Spritz on! The wall was painted with Gesso and acrylic paints...it has the most amazing texture to it...
Thank you to all that will visit my blog!
~~~ Home is were you are ~~~ Enmarc Card Challenge

Using this month's card sketch I made this sweet card.I colored the chippie by spraying Dazzles Summer Fields and Wild Grape onto my craft sheet together with some Picket Fence distress Stain.After wetting the chippie with some water,I dragged it through the paints until I was satisfied with the colors.Once dry I embossed with clear embossing powder and finished it of with another light spritz of Wild Grape Dazzle.The leaves were just chalked and curled with my awl.It makes the layers split a little giving it some dimension...Thanks for the tip Alma ;-)

I used Enmarc's
Swirl and Flourishes: Flourish 9

Here one can see the effect the extra spritz of Dazzle has on the chippie!

Thank you to any one visiting me here...:-)

~~~ My Ten/Eleven... Favorite LO's of the Year...2011 ~~~
I am going to take a huge leap and send in an application for a Design Team call that Imaginarium Designs has going...I will make it in the nick of time...for I didn't really have the courage to try...But what the heck,why not! I think it is time that I start believing in myself and my art. What started out as a "I will just do a page or two" in 2006 has developed into a love affair with paper and as of this year with chipboard elements!  Here is a collage of ten of my favorite LO's of the year... Unfortunately not done with Imaginarium chippies but with Dusty Attic and our local Enmarc Craft chippies....I love what Imaginarium has to offer though and think I should try and get me some of their chippies as well to play with. I LOVE distressing and feel my page is not complete without some tearing or rolling or just generally messing up a plain piece of paper. The same can be said about the chippies. I treat them as blank canvasses and try to see to what extent I can mess with them! They are usually painted and crackled and layered and... well see for yourself....I am going to add an eleventh project for you have to see how beautiful this card is with a bejeweled Christmas tree...
I was asked to be on Enmarc Crafts DT For 3 months, being May to July... fortunately for me I am still on their team!!! And I will be on Crafti Treasures Panel Team for 3 month, January to March with February being my month to host a challenge.
Here are some of my LO's of the year...
