Having fun
Dusty Attic Mood-Board project-January 2016

Hello dear Blogger friends...

No, you are not in a time capsule...I am just late in sharing my take on the January Mood-board from Dusty Attic...But as they say, rather later than never...

I chose to work with papers from 7 Dots Studio's 9th Wave collection for this page.
The image was taken from Pinterest because apart from it being just gorgeous, I thought the Ferris-wheel carriages resembled the Macaroons in the Mood-board.

As you can see in the top photo, I wet and separated the leaves of the Vine Corner. After Gesso I painted the stems with Navajo White Dusty Paint and Clam Bake Beige spray from Lindy's Stampgang.
The leaves were painted with Bells Of Ireland Green and Shabby Turbine Teal. I love to add Crackle Paint to my leaves for when dry it gives the leaves some interesting veins!

The Party Lights got a dab of Finnabair Snowflake Paste and was coloured with Distress Inks.

A new and welcome addition to the Dusty Attic store is the Corrugated Card...It is lightweight and easy to tear resulting in lovely pieces to tuck between layers...
I also used white flowers from Dusty in Bloom that I coloured with Shabby Turbine Teal mist after wetting the blooms with some water.
The Laurel Sprigs were also Gesso'd, painted and embossed with some random Bonjour Butter Embossing Powder.

I used the Crosshatch Stencil with Teal ink on the background and then the Bedazzled Stencil with Texture Paste. The last colour mist is Bodacious Blush.

I thank you God for this most amazing day,
for the leaping greenly spirits of trees,
and for the blue dream of sky
and for everything which is natural,
which is infinite,
which is yes.

Thank you for your visit...I will be back soon with the February Mood-Board page...until then...Happy Scrapping...

Totally Cute
Dusty Attic January 2016 DT Page

What an honour and huge privilege to be staying on the Dusty Attic Design Team for another year!!! We have some amazing uber talented new designers on the Team...Have a look and welcome them on the Blog.

Today I am sharing this page made using Dusty Attic chipboard pieces for my January DT project...

I used papers from the Secret Letters collection from 13 @rts as well as various inks and mists from 13 @rts.

I created a mixed media background by using Textured Gel, Clear Crackle Gel, Micro Beads and different inks.

I gesso'd the chipboard pieces and then randomly embossed them using Château Rose embossing Powder from Lindy's Stampgang. I then painted them with Creme Brulee Cream Starburst Spray...The little Mason Jars got a little paste of Gel Medium mixed with Gold Opal Magic Mica Powder and a sprinkling of Glitter on them.

I cut the Lacey Nameplate in half  to stretch it under my photo and layered the Ribbon Banner and Page Pebble on top of it.

Daddy and Me
November 2015 Dusty Attic DT project

Hello to all my Bloggie friends today!

I am fortunate to have a few sheets of 7 Dots Studio papers and what better product to combine them with than my ever favourite Dusty Attic chipboard!!!
This is a photo of me and my Father when I was only a few weeks old...
At first I planned on having the frame behind the photo but after all the work I put into it and seeing what it looked like I decided to rather put it on the photo.

I used the Cog Stencil and some brown ink to add interest to the back page. I then thickened Hot Chocolate and Oceania Paint with Ayeeda's Magic Powder to create a nice thick paste that I used with the Circuit Stencil.

I wanted to add texture to my chipboard and also to my page and to achieve this I added some cotton to the top and bottom of my photo stack and Finnabair Plum Glass Beads, Sterling Glass Glitter and  fine Black glitter.

The Vintage Frame and Ornate Pendant were both painted with the following Dusty in Colour Paints...Hot Chocolate
Mountain Meadow
Oceania
Sunburnt Orange.
I just painted each colour randomly and kept going until I was happy with the antique effect that I was going for. Once dry I distressed the frame in places with a sanding block to expose some raw chipboard which I then inked with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. Finally I gave it a light dry brush swipe with Gold Opal Magic Mica Powder.

Using various Distress Stains and paints...Abandoned Coral, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade and Vintage Photo, I coloured the Cogs. I also added a little clear UTEE to them.

A few Bling elements on the Ornate Pendant...

Headband ala Finnabair Style

As most of you know, I was very fortunate to attend the Finnabair workshop end of October 2015 hosted by Cariena Basson at the Scrapbook Studio in Jeffreys Bay. I wanted to create something to commemorate the occasion and decided to create...the night before leaving, whilst packing...this Headband featuring several Vintage Trinkets and products from the Prima Finnabair line. I started by priming the velvet Headband with black Gesso and after drying with my heatgun, painted it with Copper Crackle Texture Paste. All the different elements and beads were adhered using Soft Matt Gel. Unfortunately I did not have any Prima Micas, therefore I used Perfect Pearls that I mixed with soft Matt Gel and painted onto the elements. Heatgun worked again and after a little cooling I sealed it all with two layers of Matt Gel.

I wore the Headband both days of class with Anna and even after travelling am happy to say that all the elements are still in place.

Just a short and sweet post today...Thank you for dropping by...
