~~~One of a Kind~~~
April 2019 - Dusty Attic Design Team Post
Hello Blogger Friends...
With Autumn fast approaching here in South Africa feeling a little crispness in the air and some Autumn colors in the garden,  I am sharing this months Dusty Attic Design Team page with you. You might wonder why I have gone with this heavy industrial look for Michelle's Matric farewell photo this time...Well, first off, she is the Mechanical one in the family (Daddy's Girl) and secondly I was using my new 13arts products and just could not stop!!!! Lol...The products worked so perfectly with Dusty Attic Chipboard and it was fun experimenting seeing how far I could go using them...For me of course it's a match made in heaven....
The papers I used this time were two sheets of Dripping with Words from the On the Wall collection.
After tearing one sheet, I placed it face down on the other.  I applied clear Gesso and played with the following products to give the Background look. I used Black and Brown Rainbow Color Duo's, and mixed Texture Paste with Vivid Vintage Paints, Americano, Brown Sugar and Espresso and applied it very randomly with a Spatula. Also made splatters with watered down Matt Green Paint.
All my Chipboards were coated with a watered down Gesso mix. Lately I find a light coating to be efficient enough to prepare the chipboard for future medias as proposed to a thicker very heavy Gesso coating. I then embossed the Industrial Scroll and the Industrial Heart with Aged Black and Aged Green Embossing Enamel from Stampendeous.  You can see the absolutely amazing effects the multicolored grains have on the chipboard! I never tire of seeing the closeups with the different specks of colours.
The circles that I have used are actually the cut-offs from the Chain Circles...never throw anything away for it can be used again for sure! I glued some half pearls onto them... Gesso'd and painted with the Vivid Vintage Paints and also with Ayeeda Pearl Turquoise Mist resulting in this awesome Patina effect. I battled to get the correct shade for the Metal Plates and Diamond Panel. I wanted them to look like Michelle's dress so had a good play to get the shade correct! I started of by painting them with the Matt Green Paint, then misted with the Turquoise Mist and finally used Pistachio Green Rainbow Duo which with the other colours gave me the perfect look...Some splatters and edging with Black Splash Ink and I am quite happy with the result.
Distressed Black Tulle, Green Roots from 13arts, Petaloo Flowers and Random free embossed Aged Green Embossing add the final touches to this page.
I hope you have enjoyed the details on this page...
Please remember that we have an amazing Design Team at Dusty Attic who will woe and encourage you every day on the Dusty Attic Blog ... And in the Online Shop you will find the products that I have used and much, much more....
The father of a daughter is nothing but a high-class hostage.
A father turns a stony face to his sons,
 berates them,
shakes his antlers,
paws the ground,
 snorts, runs them off into the underbrush,
 but when his daughter puts her arm over his shoulder and says,
“Daddy, I need to ask you something,”
he is a pat of butter in a hot frying pan.
March 2019 - Dusty Attic Design Team post
Today I am sharing a strong coloured page for Dusty Attic with you. Using a photo of Chantelle deep in Artsy Mode from a few years back. I used papers from DCWV the Timeless Type Stack. Flowers are mostly from Petaloo. I used a plastic bag to stamp some Ink onto my background and also a Stencil with Yellow Archival Ink. I added leave motifs with the Dusty Attic Leaves #2 Stencil and Black Texture Paste.
I coloured the bottom part of the Layered Garland with black acrylic paint. The top part and the Mini Hearts were primed with White Versa Magic Ink and then painted with Yellow Metallic Paint from 13arts.
The Heraldry Motif and Diamond Panel was embossed with Aged Black embossing powder from Stampendous.
These and many more are available in the Dusty Attic store...
Please come over and visit the Dusty Attic Blog,  and also the Dusty FANattics facebook page for fun and inspiration!
In my soul,
about anything else
~~~Celebrating You~~~
March 2019 - 13arts Challenge 76

And with this I post my first challenge as a 13arts Design Team member...
Knowing the amazing work done by Designers on the Team has challenged me to dig deep and produce work that is worthy being on the Team...Nothing like a healthy dose of 'competition' right...

I was inspired by the cute little Baby feet in the photo, thus I used a 30 odd year old photo of my eldest daughter's Christening. Also loved the idea of the book and used my Vintage Summer paper and some Script Tissue Paper to create the idea of paper-sheets. The quality of the paper is such that it holds the curls perfectly. I did use strips of foam-tape between the layers to help  keep the space between the layers. The brown colours come from the top left photo on the board.

I used several white flowers from Petaloo that I sprayed with Ayeeda Mist; Pastel Antique Cream.

I prepared the background paper by giving it a light wash of watered down Gesso. Also sprayed it with the Antique Cream Mist. Used Gel Medium to adhere the two sizes of Glass Beads. Another layer of Gesso and then a healthy layer of Crackle Medium. Once that was dried I sprayed with Dark Brown Chalk Mist. A squirt of water helped the ink settle between the beads and cracks...

The Dusty Attic title was embossed with Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel from Stampendous and the raw leaves painted with Ayeeda Shiny Powder, Antique Gold.

To find the products I used and much more, please visit the 13arts Shop...

Thank you for your visit...till next time!

~~~There is only one Happiness in Life...~~~
February 2019 - Dusty Attic Moodboard Project
Good Day Blogger Friends...
This months Colour scheme for the Dusty Attic Moodboard is just right up my alley! Gorgeous muted, earthy tones.
I had the perfect Embroidery threads and papers from 13@rts to create my page. The papers used are, Something Borrowed, Something Blue and Bridesmaid Dress from the Vintage Summer Collection. The photo is from Pinterest...
I began my page by hand-stitching on several layers. Also did a little stencil work using texture paste coloured with Infusion Stains, Emerald Isle, Royal Blood and The Sage to get the correct shade.
The two Dusty Attic pieces,  Antique Frame and Ivy Corner #2 were coloured with several shades of Green, Beige and Champagne Acrylic paints. Also sprayed a little Lindy's Stampgang sprays on them.
The Title Chippy was swiped with some Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.
Please create and take part in this month Challenge...there is still enough time left to be in line to win one of two $50 store Gift vouchers. This and much more is what you will find in the Dusty Attic on-line store....
I hope you enjoyed my project and those of my fellow Dusty Attic Design Team friends....
Till next time.
Make it happen.
Make your own future.
Make your own hope.
 Make your own love.
And whatever your beliefs,
honor your creator,
not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high,
but by doing what you can to make grace happen
... yourself,
right now,
right down here on Earth..
