Dusty Attic DT Announcement
Lindy's Colours Challence

It is with great excitement that I can announce that I will be a Dusty girl next year!!!! Great shout out to Jennifer Hedger, Jenny Burns and all the old and new DT members...Awesome Scrappers and amazing product...Bring on 2015!

To celebrate I combined my love for Chipboard and Lindy's Stampgang Sprays on this canvas that I created to take part in the Lindy's October colour challenge.

To achieve texture I applied coarse Texture Gel and drywall tape. I did some stamping and misted with Clam Bake Beige Spray.

All my flowers and the cotton-ball buds were white. They were coloured with Clam Bake Beige and Orange Creamsickle. The lace flowers were also coloured with Clam Bake Beige and Bodacious Blush.

The Dusty Attic pieces were Gesso'd and inked with Evergreen Bough Distress Stain, Dandilion Archival Ink and a little UTEE.

I did some misting with LSG Azure Sea Asters, Black Orchid Silver, Bodasious Blush and Orange Creamsickle.

I embossed the butterfly with LSG embossing powders, Cosmic Pink Blue and Desert Moon Turquoise.

More texture with stencils and Translucent Embossing Paste and LSG Peacock Angel Wings embossing powder...

The Tim Holtz Bookplate was also Gesso'd and painted with LSG Azure Sea Asters, Black Orchid Silver and Orange Creamsickle Sprays.

The Dusty Lavender Blooms were sprayed with Clam Bake Beige and some Dandelion Ink.

I used the following Dusty Attic pieces.

             Birds Nest #2-DA 0721

Sugar & Spice

This is my page done for the October Sketch challenge hosted by Once Upon a Sketch...Our journalling theme this month is "The Woman/Girl in our Lives". Therefore I scrapped these photos of the two most important and gorgeous girls in my two Daughters!

As the title suggests, they truly are Sugar and Spice..two very different personalities, I won't say who is which just hope they both realise how important they are to me, and how terribly proud I am of both of them...Oh yes, they both have their difficulties and can be full of nonsense, but I have never had to be ashamed of them and can only say, I am Proud to be your Mother!!!

I have used papers from the Prima Songbird collection, a Pima 12x12 stencil, Resin embellishments and various Prima flowers!

I punched and layered several strips of paper to mimic the notepad design on the paper.

The stencilling was done with Translucent Paste and Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Enamel. I added colour to the page using Steampunk Sepia Magicals and Pegleg Pete's Purple Moonshadow Mist, both from Lindy's Stampgang.

Some hand stitching with a few added Pearl Beads. They were white and I coloured them with a few drops of Alcohol Ink.

(I flipped the sketch and used two photos instead of one)

Thank you for your visit, leaving you with these words that I am very sure runs true in many households....

Sisters annoy,
 Indulge in monumental sulks,
 in huffs,
 in snide remarks.
Monopolize the bathroom.
Are always underfoot.
But if catastrophe should strike,
 sisters are there.
 Defending you against all comers.

Hello to all of you!

Today I am sharing a page I made using the awesome October Inspiration Board from Scraps of Elegance...Please have a look at it and do play along with is filled with gorgeous colour and textures!

I am so in love with the gorgeous Madeleine Collection from BoBunny, especially the Tiles...I think it's because I love the old steel ceilings used in the old homesteads from years gone by. I myself have these ceilings in my house, even though it was only build 25 years ago, I was fortunate enough to buy a trailer full of these ceiling boards from a salvaged old farm house whilst we were building our house, along with a beautiful fireplace mantel...It is a standing joke that I chased away our carpenter when I arrived with these, for they were all bent and rusted and in need of a serious clean up that he was certainly not keen of!

I cut separate squares from a second sheet of paper and tore and distressed pieces that I glued back in place to achieve the look of worn out tiles.

I treated the background with two stencils...The first was a square stencil with white crackle paint...of which most got hidden once I added my papers and embellishments...duh! I also used a Damask stencil with Metallic Gold Paste from Studio 490, some Orange paint and a little Charcoal glitter.

I have taken the colours and of course the Handles as inspiration from the Inspiration Board. These were gifted to me by my dear friend Ingrid Gooyer from the Netherlands...I coloured them with several colours of Distress Inks.

This photo gives one a better idea of the textures from the stencilling.

Thank you for visiting my post and page...I hope to see some work using our Inspiration Board as a starting point....please come and play along!!!

To look backward for a while is to refresh the eye,
 to restore it,
and to render it the more fit
for its prime function
of looking forward.
