Dusty Attic March 2016 mood-Board

Although it is the last day of the month and tomorrow we reveal a new Mood-Board at Dusty Attic...I still need to show you my page I designed with the March board...It was a soft, elegant and nostalgic looking board. I used papers from Maja: Vintage Spring Basics, 1st of April.

I layered two sheets of paper on top of each other and distressed the top one, added gauze and Prills and did some texture work with white crackle paint and Lindy's Mists.

I painted the Elegant Pearls with Sugar Cane Glimmer Glaze and added some crackle paint on the pendants.

I also painted the Grass Clusters with the Glimmer Glaze and added some Prills: I'm A-Mazed. The flourish was painted with Luminarte H2O's: Burnt Umber and Nutmeg.

Here I used coloured Gauze for texture and Prills: Third Place. I splatted with watered Gesso and Silks: Pink Grapefruit. The flowers are from Prima and Petaloo.

These and many more are all available in the Dusty Attic Store...

I'd give all wealth that years have piled,
The slow result of Life's decay,
To be once more a little child
For one bright summer day.

~Feeling Pure Bliss~
More Than Words March Challenge

I started creating this canvas just as a relaxing project playing with different media and elements, when along the way I realised that I can enter it in the More Than Words March challenge where one has to use Gesso and be inspired by the word Bliss...The Gesso was no problem as I have used white, black and clear Gesso, but the 'Bliss' had me going for a little while, not knowing how I was going to incorporate Bliss to this way out character...until I did a Google search for the word and came up with this explanation:

1.perfect happiness; great joy.
synonyms: joy, pleasure, delight, happiness, gladness, ecstasy, elation, rapture,
euphoria, heaven, paradise, seventh heaven, cloud nine

reach a state of perfect happiness, oblivious of everything else.

That is what I felt whilst I was creating this canvas...happiness, joy and was fun and for a little while I was...oblivious of everything else!

I prepped my canvas with clear Gesso, adhered all the elements with 3D Gloss Gel, then gave it a layer of black Gesso and used different Mica's and Perfect Pearls to colour. The Fishnet Panel, Frames and Wings are all from Dusty Attic...
I was influenced by Finnabair (of course), Marta Lapkowska and a recent project by Louise Nelson...

I made the faces and torso using moulds and Martha Stewart clay. On the background I used Finnabair ArtExtravagance White Sand and White Crackle texture pastes.

Here all was covered with black Gesso.
I am placing more than needed close-ups, merely because I really liked all the different colours and texture...

The Dusty Attic wings were dipped in warm water to separate the layers. I only did two layers but one can easily do 3 layers. I dried them with my Heatgun resulting in them curling. After painting them all with a Pearlescent white paint, I dusted several colours Perfect Pearls on them.
I used Blue Smoke, Forever Green and Red and Pewter. A quick spritz of water to set them and a blast with the Heatgun to create some bubbles for texture.

I layered several of Finnabair's Mechanicals and trinkets and Licorice Glass Beads, all adhered with the strong 3D Gel. I then painted it all with clear Gesso and painted them with Rust Mica Powder mixed with Soft Gel and Lindy's Mica's. I also rubbed a little Copper Inka Gold onto the high areas.

The background and moulds were coloured with Sweet Violet and Time Travel Teal Magical's from Lindy's.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my photos of my Blissful creation...Thank you for taking the time to visit me today...

I have linked the MTW image to the currant challenge...

From Dusty Attic I used the following chipboards...

Every now and then,
when the world sits just right,
a gentle breath of heaven
fills my soul with delight...

~Heart Card~
A Card for Scraps of Darkness on-line Store

Today I am sharing with you a card I made using supplies from the Scraps of Darkness on-line store. The store is also the place were you can order and sign up to receive the monthly Scraps of Darkness/Elegance kits...

I used a piece of Canvas Paper from my own stash simply because I liked the texture of it. I used the Rebecca Baer Stencil: Flights of Fancy and Prima Color Bloom: Cotton Candy (The Prima Color Blooms are on sale at the moment) on my background. I also layered Strips of Heidi Swapp Definitions Stickers  and various Canvas and gauze strips across the card.

I placed a Prima Resin Heart  on top of a Prima Flower. The resin Heart was also sprayed with the Color Bloom. On the Heart and background I embossed some Embossing Powder and Color Fragments from a Stampendous Fran-tage Encrusted Jewel Kit. In the shop there is a beautiful Teal Kit...

This is a short post, for I have a few more creations to share with you all.
Please take the time to visit the shop and also the Scraps of Darkness/Elegance Blog to find inspirations from my fellow Design Team friends.

-I loved This-
March 2016 Dusty Attic DT

Hello Scrappy friends...
Today I share with you a very special photo. This is me and my dear on-line friend Lisa-Marie Watling. We have known each other a few years already and only got to meet last year at the Finnabair workshop in Jeffreys'bay...
What a meeting that was...I can not even remember if either of us said a word, I can just remember tight bear hugs and flippen tears!!! For a tiny little person Lisa-Marie sure has the most awesome hugs...I will treasure those moments forever, really hoping that it might be possible to spend time with my little soul-sister sometime in future again.

Here I used the Swirly Frame. I cut it in half and used it to frame my photo. All my chip-board was first gesso'd and painted with Oak Leaf Olive Mica's from Lindy's Stampgang. On the frame I did some random embossing with Aged Green Embossing Enamel from Stampendous.

I added some drops of Glossy Accents on the Feather, and somehow must have pressed on the one resulting in a more Matt finish...liking it more I then went ahead and tried to Matt all the other drops as well...Once again a Happy mishap..
I also used two stencils from the Dusty Attic shop. I used the Cross-hatched one with some brown Distress Ink and Copper Crackle Texture Paste with the Bedazzled Stencil.

Different layers with papers, resist canvas, canvas and Tokreene'd gauss. The colour is from LSG Moonshadow Mist, Ethernal Emerald. My favourite Prills are A Penny Saved.

The title is very apt for this special photo!!! It was just Gesso'd and inked a little.

Both layers of the Layered Accent were painted with the LSG Mica, with the bottom one getting a swipe with the brown Distress Ink.

I created the border with several Tissue Tapes, Brown Distress Ink and water droplets.
